Management reports are commonly found in most organizations. They are called different names in different organizations. Some of the common names used are
- Key Performance Indicator (KPI) report
- Business Dashboard
- Daily, Weekly or Monthly Snapshot
- Business Performance / Deck Report
These management reports provide Senior Managers with a quick overview of the business performance in just a few minutes. But preparing the reports can take up a lot of time, as long as a few hours. The whole process is very manual if these managers and executives only know the common functions and formulas of Excel. Unknown to these executives and managers, as much as 90% of their report preparation time can be saved if they know how to combine formulas and functions in Excel together. If properly setup, they can even do away with calculations and the coloring of cells. All they have to do is to change the date in the report and Excel will take care of the rest. This means an error free report, caused by manual calculation and formatting.
